Expectation Letter for Parents (boilerplate template)
Here is a basic letter to send to parents in the beginning of the year. It lays down expectations and procedures. Students (and parents) have to bring it back signed. There are several places where changes have to be made to fit your name, school, contact info, etc. But keep in mind that this is just a start you can modify and add to this. This will perhaps give you good ideas and a head start!

Teaching style
My classes consisted of teaching from a hands-on perspective. Very little lecture. Students did labs and developed skills. I was big on student binders with all their labs and notes. I would allow students to use their science binders on my unit exams. This forced me to make higher level questions and I believed that the students actually learned by taking the tests. My test were very difficult but I also allowed test corrections to give half the points back.
