So glad you're my newest follower. Thank you! You have about the same number of products as me. It took me almost two years to get there, so you're well on your way. Also, your products have a distinctive look. My only suggestion would be that you may want to make some custom categories so that Christian educators can more easily find some of your specialized products. All the best for a successful future! :-)

I Love Love Love the scrambled paragraphs. Especially the ones for fifth grade! I use it to model excellent writing with supporting details, reading fluency, and then students re-write the paragraph to practice their copying skills as well as penmanship and "feeling" the flow of a good paragraph. Any chance there will be more of these coming out?

Hi, Kathy! Thanks so much for the feedback and your inquiry. I've only just started making these types of lessons. My goal is to provide leveled practice so teachers can pick and choose which activities to use. I'm currently working on a seasonal display and activity bundle, but I do have plans to make more text-mapping and close reading informational packets like this one. I especially like the sentence rephrasing activity on page 15, so I was thrilled that you singled that out, too. Thanks again for getting in touch. I teach prep, verbs, and subjects the same way. This product caught my attention. I took a look through your preview and noticed around slide 30 you call the object of the preposition a direct object a few times. Thought I would let you know, so you can review it. I don't think it is possible to ever call that noun at the end of a prep phrase a direct object- isn't it always an object of the preposition? Caitlin

Hello!

We saw your freebie, and would love to put it up on TinyGrads.com as a free download there as well by our large community of teachers and parents.

Though our policy of no "external links" prevents us from "linking" to your TpT store directly, we'd love to give you credit, put your name and TpT ID picture up there, and use text to point our parents and teachers to your store where they might want to purchase your “for sale” items from there.

We thought this might be a great a way to give you a little “free advertising” and for our community of parents and teachers (and the children they teach) to be able to enjoy your work as well.

We'll take care of loading your freebie up there, all we need is your permission.

Hope you have a great day!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thanks!

Dear Kathysever: Thanks for the email. Yes, it is spelled incorrectly. But, if you were to view a few more slides from the presentation, you would see that it gets corrected further on. Sometimes a student will spot the error. I stop the lesson and discuss whether or not an error of that sort is editing or revising. Most often, though, it slips past the students' notice. When it comes up, they're surprised to see that there are additional errors to be found by proofreading. I hope that clears up your concern. If I can be of any additional help, please feel free to email me at: lessons4now@gmail.com Thanks again for taking time to contact me! :-)

I have just started (2 weeks ago) at a new teaching job and have been given an additional class that was to be for computers. I would prefer to change the curriculum to business and/or economics and have the freedom to do so. It is a mix of 6th - 8th graders. I have downloaded your free Goods and Services and plan on using that one day next week. What is your suggested order for your other Economics tools?

Lessons4Now  (TpT Seller)
Hi, aggiedoc87. Congratulations on your new job! I'd start with the Economics Activity Combo Pack 8 No Prep Printables. Next, use Economic Vocabulary and Activity Packet, and then end with MORE Economics Vocabulary & Activities NO PREP. The first set is written on an elementary reading level and should be mostly review for 6-8th students. Each set gets progressively more challenging. Please take time to look at the full length previews of each product to see whether or not these materials are fit your curriculum and students' ability level. Another idea is to try the If You Had $100 to Donate: Persuasive Writing activity. This requires students to use computers for research, and to create an essay. You might be able to combine economics and computer skills, AND raise students' social awareness, to boot! Also, here's a great online resource you may want to check it out. (http://www.smckids.com/episodes/) Whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll do a great job. It's clear you are committed to careful preparation and enhancing your instruction! :-)

Buyer re: Scrambled Paragraphs 4-in-1 BUNDLE Activity Packets
After introducing these for the first time today (the students really enjoyed, by the way), I was discussing with the resource teacher who assists with one of my students....We were thinking that it would be helpful if there was a 10th box containing a sentence that was off topic and should be discarded. What are your thoughts on this? I was trying to find an existing Promethian flipchart to model a scrambled paragraph on our interactive whiteboard, but could not find one. Thus, I'm trying to convert one myself so the students can manipulate electronically in guided practice first, and then do the paper version for independent practice and assessment.

Hi, renhart1! I like this idea. It would be a great way to extend the lesson. Maybe I could make my next one with an off topic sentence. As to making an interactive whiteboard lesson, I've created these on SmartBoard for my own classroom, but I can't remember quite how I did it. It's been quite awhile since I used them, but I feel like there was an existing feature I was able to adapt pretty easily. Hopefully the Promethian has something similar. Thanks for sharing your idea. I'm in the middle of a couple of new projects, right now. But sometime down the line I'd love to give it a try! :-)

Hm-mm. I thought I was kind of "done" with them, but you've given me something to think about. Is an eight-sentence paragraph too long for second grade? I'd guess you'd start with five-- topic, three support details, and a clincher. And then, you'd build up to longer paragraphs with more support. If I were thinking about this, would it be best to start with a couple of five-sentence paragraphs? Feel free to comment here, or you can email me at Lessons4Now@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing your ideas! :-)

Thank you for making me aware of this issue. I'm very sorry you're having difficulties with this download. No one has had an issue with this before so I don't have a quick solution. I'm not a MacBook Air user but my research indicates that PowerPoint on the Mac should open PowerPoint files created with the Windows version. However there are different versions of both PowerPoint Mac and PC. I used the 2007 PC version to create my product. Mismatched versions can sometimes cause formatting errors. However, I wouldn't expect that it would fail to open. One online source suggested running the Windows version of PowerPoint either in Bootcamp or Parallels/Fusion on your MacBookAir.

That said, I have to admit I can't offer a for-sure technological fix. I'll be happy to refund your money, send you a different product that does not rely on PPT technology, or consider other solutions that you might wish to make.

Please email me at lessons4now@gmail.com to let me know how I can help make this right! Thanks again for contacting me with this concern. Again, I'm very sorry that this product was not able to work with your system.

I just bought your paragraph writing powerpoint and skill sheets. Love them! Although I saw some mistakes, Can you fix them and send them to me?

On the Paragraph Writng Pre-Assessment...There is a "3" in the word includes, which is in answer C under Section B.

On Vocabulay and Vocabulary Fill-In...both pages get cut off when printing (maybe something with the margins). Also on the Vocabulary sheet all the "u" have been replaced with commas. Same thing on the directions on the Vocabulary fill-in sheet.

I'm so sorry there were mistakes in your download. I really appreciate you letting me know about these issues. I've been out of town for the last few days and just arrived home. Please feel free to email me at lessons4now@gmail.com if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks again for contacting me with your concerns!

UPDATE-> I've deleted the unnecessary "3" in the word "includes." To resolve the cut off page you may need to select "fit to page" when printing, or select legal size paper. Finally, I'm not seeing the commas-replacing-the-letter-u problem. Since this is a PDF, I'm not sure how that could be happening. I'm sorry I can't offer a solution for this issue. However, I'll be happy to refund your money, provide another product of equal value, or consider another solution that you may wish to suggest. Please contact me at lessons4now@gmail.com to let me know you wish to proceed. Again, I'm sorry you are experiencing these difficulties and I hope to hear from you soon so I can make this right!

I use the snipping tool on Microsoft for preview thumbnails and to create small images that can be layered for an array. I've also used the "take a snapshot" feature in Adobe PDFs to create single page files that can then be opened in Word. These mini-pics need to be formatted to move and layer, but they are pretty good quality. When the array is ready, I then take another "snipped" picture of it to use as a thumbnail. I checked out your TpT store. Your thumbnails and previews look as good as any I've seen! However, if you want to try any of these things and you need more information, feel free to email me at any time at lessons4now@gmail.com. --Claire

Again, I apologize for any problems you've had and appreciate the opportunity to set things right. Please contact me anytime if you have any further questions or concerns.

Thank you for your patience.

All the best,
Claire Somerville

Dear Grace: You should be able to click "read only" and the file will open. However, this is a problem I need to solve once and for all. I'm revamping this and another PowerPoint file. Shortly, I will reload them to TpT. In the meantime, if you send me an email address, I'll send you an updated file. My email is: lessons4now@gmail.com. I apologize for the inconvenience. It's important to me that you, and all customers, are completely satisfied. I'm so sorry for any instructional delay this problem may have caused. --Claire

I am also having the same issue as taragon. I cannot open the file because it says it has a password. I use a mac and there is no way for me to choose the read only option because no such option is available. Please help.

Dear Schoonover 25:

I'm sorry you had problems with this file. I thought the issue had been resolved. However, I haven't heard from any Mac users before this. If you will email me at lesson4now@gmail.com I will change the file and email you a copy that should easily open.

I want to find an acceptable solution and make this right. Your purchase means a lot to me and I want to do everything I can to make this a positive experience for you, and all future customers.

Thank you!

I just purchased your power point and it is asking for a password? Not sure how to get by this, do you have another version that does not require a password.

Thank you,
Tina

I'm sorry you had problems with this download. All you need to do is click "read only." To move the file from the download window, click on it and drag it to any other file on your computer. For example, I dragged the exact file in question to my documents file, and was able to immediately open it from there-- again by clicking "read only."

If this is not acceptable to you, I'll be happy to send you a PDF of the same file. I'm also happy to consider any alternative suggestion you may have.

It's important to me that this product fulfills your expectations. Now that I'm aware this may be a problem, I plan to do some additional research. Thank you for letting me know about this issue. I appreciate the opportunity to make this right and avoid similar concerns in the future.
