Graphic Novels! As we enter a new wave of instruction and move toward including all types of literature in the classroom, we as teachers are now having to redesign our lessons. If you are like me, I want resources! This lesson focusses on the visual components of graphic novels and gives students the tools to analyze images they encounter during their reading. Getting students to invest in a choice novel is hard. As it is now part of the Texas TEKS for high school English, we have to find ways to get students there. This small activity is designed to engage students and get them familiar with their choices when it comes to reading. This Google Form is designed to function as a 10/20 minute warm up in which they explore interests, past relationships with novels/ readings, and begin to build a small reading list.
