These cards can be used multiple ways: 1.) Match numeral to set Students will use counting by 10s to count the ten frames in order to determine the quantity. They will then match the numeral card to the ten frame set. 2.) Print two copies. Match numeral to numeral. Match set to set. 3.) Play as go fish with two students. I teach kindergarten and played during small group first. The game was then used during math centers and the students played independently.
Mr. Brown Can Moo read aloud extension activity: After reading the story children will use their letter sounds and phonetic spelling to fill in the missing words (animal and sound). This sheet will also reinforce the sight words the, can. Have your students sit with a partner and share their sentences to close the lesson.
Print, tape together or hang on a decorative ribbon. If you are taping together I recommend you use scotch tape and tape on the back. Then laminate after you connect the pages. If you are hanging using ribbon, I recommend you laminate before you attach it to the ribbon. Use clothes pins to clip staring at "ready to learn". This addition and subtraction game is great for Pre-K through 1st grade.
Directions for how to play the game:
1. Collect all cards and mix them up (shuffle)
2. Place cards face down or in a bag
3. Draw a card
4. Place the correct number of teddy bears on the bottom of the board (One teddy bear per circle.)
5. Solve the problem
6. Write the answer using dry erase on the card
7. Erase and return to pile
