You can use this Read the Room Write the room book in a variety of ways. Make it into a book and put it in a center. Print individual pages and search for the letter of the day. This is a book I read to my students when we are learning about the 3D shapes sphere, cone, cylinder & cube. It's a simple & repetetive story that the kids pick up on quickly. It also helps kids understand the difference between flat shapes (square, circle, rectangle & triangle) and 3D shapes. If you are a preschool teacher and only teach basic shapes you can leave the 3D shapes pages out and the story still makes sense. Update: I have added a black and white reproducible copy of the book.

This is one of our books we use during centers. The kids use alphabet craft punches (or you could use a regular punch), daubers, fun pens and markers to practice recognizing the letters of the alphabet.

Smartboard Number Sense activity for numbers 1-10. Students move pictures to show representations of a specific number. This is an introduction I use whole group but can also be used small group. I follow up this activity with my Number Sense Worksheets (also on TPT).

Students make their way through the maze only covering the focus letter on that page. There is one page for each letter of the alphabet and each page works on recognizing the capital and lowercase letter.
