This is a fact family project where students will roll one or two dice, then figure out what the third number will be to fill in the fact family. They will then color the gingerbread house, cut both pages and paste on the tab. I differentiate this for different grades by providing higher numbers for upper grades. This is a Grade 1 addition strategy activity that focuses on "Counting On"! This includes two sets of 21 cards that I laminate and my students write on with dry-erase markers. It is also differentiated; 12 cards are addition within 12 and 9 cards are addition within 20. One set of cards encourages students to use counters in a five frame, while the other set has students fill in the digits to count on. This is a great activity for students who need to review shapes while practicing graphing concepts! Students can create a drawing using pattern blocks or create a picture on a workmat using pattern blocks.
