I created these centers to be independent and differentiated. My students would rotate through them while I instructed my guided reading groups. Centers are ABC Center, Listening Center, Making Silly Sentences, Artistic Alley, Letter Play, and Building Words. Package includes the direction page and student work page for the centers that require it. Some centers also require letter manipulatives. I had my students glue them into their center journal/packet for accountability. Hope you enjoy!

As part of a balanced literacy program, student's should be working with letters and words in a variety of ways with a "Word Work" center. This is a collection of Common Core Aligned worksheets and templates. These templates can be changed on a weekly basis to align with the content you're covering. For Example: The boggle template. Document that students have done their homework. Students can be held accountable for checking it off, or the teacher can. Edit to make it fit your room! If you'd like Monday added, I can add it easily or you can edit the columns. I don't assign weekend homework, so I never need it!

This is a SmartBoard review game for 5th graders. It uses a board game to keep track of students progress/success through the questions.The 30 questions were developed from the Common Core Math Modules 1-4 with a few Geometry questions. The answers on done on the page for you as well, but they're hidden so the students can not see them right away!

At this time of year, students are writing all kinds of letters. Letters to Santa, letters to family members and thank you notes after receiving Holiday gifts! I have created a parts of the letter template using a snowman to show the heading, body and closing. I also included two practice letter templates with the parts of the letter labeled. A thank you letter template is included as well. Two final letter writing papers are also included with holiday graphics.

I created two different templates that can be used just for your guiding reading groups. One template is meant for all your groups on one page and the other template is meant to focus on one groups plans for a week. There are also a few activity pages ranging from summarizing the story to character trait descriptions.

After students perform a literature circle group, they should complete the rubric to determine how well they did in their group. The teacher can then meet with them to complete the teacher evaluation. Quick, simple reflection

Flipbooks can be used in a variety of lessons and content areas! They are most commonly used in summarizing stories. I have made a few different kinds that can be used for summarizing stories, describing the scientific process, listing short vowel words, describing parts of speech.

Write letters to Santa in first person point of view from the perspective of a reindeer, elf, Mrs. Claus or more! Challenge your student's to think outside of their own perspective and write from someone else's mindset.

Allowing students to do book reviews is a great way to keep them engaged and not just set the book down and move on! This will generate an interest in your classroom library and allow peers to share their interests.
