"Introduction to Non-Fiction Style Analysis" offers students the vocabulary and a procedural approach to writing about non-fiction. Through modeling in large group discussion, the instructor demonstrates the steps in analyzing at least one essay by Henry D. Thoreau. Students then work independently or in small groups to practice the procedure on another Thoreau essay.
