When I was in h.s. I used texts for grammar. After years of drifting away from grammar, I see more and more the benefit of strong grammar. I cannot find scenes on the internet for simple story telling, so I made my own really SIMPLE picture, with a story.(I told the student it was my educational folk art!")I like to get a lot of use out of any SCENE visuals, because they are so hard to find, so this scene (really simple, but effective) has 6 activities attached:
1. reading a story (teacher directed)
2. dictation (teacher directed)
3. reading the "picture" (modeled by teacher)

This could be homework, a quiz, or an activity.
This has a word bank, a fill in paragraph. Students familiarize themselves with the words, (pair work) then try to fill in the paragraph. After they also look for cognates (all students at all levels can contribute here)
I also include opening sentence discussion (how to write a paragraph). I have also an answer key.

-ER VERB WARM-UP ACTIVITY PPT FRENCH
I like to think of this activity as putting the "POWER" back into Powerpoints.

This chat mat (or chatting mat) was inspired by the Voces story « l’apéritif chez Christine.» I created this to be used with the story or easily on its own. BACKWARD DESIGN TEMPLATE (GENERAL) PPT
This is a template in powerpoint format.
This is a GENERAL backward design unit I am using - Could be used for any subject? I think so at this point! I have transitions for the slides, and sounds too. Take any and all out if you wish. I only ask that you don't use my pics for other worksheets (thanks in advance).
I inserted letters in the sentence spaces, and you can simply rewrite whatever you want in the bulleted areas, to make the template really user friendly.

Realidades 8A vocabulary Battleship style activity
FLASH: I just revamped the activity! I made it CLEAR with numbers well placed, and added a helpful area for the alphabet (my students asked for this today!)

First, I call this "tresor" and instead of sinking ships, the players hunt for gems! ( I like gems more than battleships!) I really didn't understand the game, but for me the treasure hunt makes more sense for filling in the game board and "hunting" for the treasure.

I discovered this amazing program to create newsletters (You have to pay for the newsletter part of Microsoft word now, so I went hunting for a program) I created the criteria in the form of a newsletter. Teaching style
For me t’s all about creating “working “sheets, not worksheets. I try to create activities where the student has to do more of the work, rather than just filling in a quick answer. It really is true to work smarter not harder for the teacher!
I also think that when we talk about skills and skill teaching, it’s more than just memorization and recognition which are skills, but there are other skills: listening, sound recognition, spelling, solving a problem, sharing, information, and more
One example is when I taught vocabulary and grammar surrounding travel, I told the students “you might not remember the French, but I’m gonna teach you how to book a flight, how to plan what you’re going to do on that trip, and how to write a letter if your luggage is lost.” It’s that kind of skill also that I tried to focus on.
