Absolutely perfect for COMPIC, my son has a major aversion (ASD) to food and if he can talk about food and sort them out, I hope he'll be a bit more accepting to it. Thank you for creating and sharing these great pictures, being 'real' it is extremely beneficial.

Wonderful Job! Thank you so much! This will save me so much time trying to find pictures. The only thing that I will note is that if you are using these symbols and live in America some of the words and pictures are slightly different however it didn't really bother me and there were very few differences.

I'm glad you like them and I'd like to help you in any way I can to get them printed. These are designed primarily to be used with Word by inputting the images into the grids provides. Do you by any chance have Microsoft Office? If not, you could always download this 60 day trial to get you started: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj192782.aspx
Then, once you have created the pages you want to print (with all the PECS that you need) you could save them as PDF files for future use (i.e., when the trial runs out).

I have used this twice already in 1 week. In a pinch last Friday I used the colorful items to partner count to 10 in a kindergarten class and I had already used it at a home setting with a 1st grader with Autism. Thanks!

It would have been better if the colors around the edges of the cards did not match with the answer. In reality, all the kids have to do is match the same colored cards, not opposites.

I ordered the complete package. I am wanting to add a few of my own pics to the grids but the black grid included does not have a cross bar it only had the black vertical lines. I know there is a way I can fix this but cannot figure it out for myself.

Thanks for your purchase. Its is quite simple. The grid in the document is a table. If you hover your mouse over the table then a cross will appear on the top left - click this to selct the whole table then right click to see a lis of options. Select "Borders and Shading" from this lis and a new editing window will open. There is a 'Preview' of your table borders on the right - by clicking on this preview you can add or remove borders from the table.
Hope that helps. If you would rather then I would be happy to do this for you and send it to you via email - you'd just need to send me your email address.

If you really wanted to change the laguage on them then I could send them to you in Microsoft word format. This way you could place a white text box over the word on the card and write in the word you wanted there in your chosen language.
The fully collection of PECS includes each card as a individual .JPEG image as well as Microsoft Word grid files. This would be the best choice for you to choose the cards you wanted and replace the words on them.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have experience working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, where children with a wide range of learning and physical disabilities attened. Primarily, I have worked to help children on the autism spectrum with acute behavioral problems and severely delayed speech development. Having a degree in Psychology, I have also been able to work as an ABA therapist. It is through this experience, working one-to-one with autistic children as part of an ABA program, that I realised the need for these learning aids tailored to the specific needs of children with autism.
MY TEACHING STYLE
Tailored learning for children with special educational needs - particularly the use of photographic images rather than clip-art, as autistic children seem to respond much better to these images.
