Students will work in cooperative teams to think critically and describe the differences between chemical and physical changes and physical properties. Students will make dough, allow it to rise, bake bread and create butter! Super fun but requires access to kitchen appliances. You rise the dough overnight in a refrigerator. This lab requires 2 days. Materials needed: 1/2 teaspoon salt ���¼ Tbs sugar 1/4 cup lukewarm water (45C) 1 tsp active dry yeast 1 piece of plastic wrap 1

This is a great movie to show students when teaching about DNA and genetics. You do need to get parent permission due to the movie's rating but it is well worth it! The questions used here are "right there" and critical thinking, both to keep students engaged and thinking about the movie. Will lead to some good philosophical discussions afterward as well.

These questions go along with The Discovery Channel's "When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions" Landing the Eagle (2008) movie. I love to give engaging, critical thinking questions while students watch a movie to keep them engaged. There are 8 "right there" questions that are answered directly in the movie along with 3 "Reasearch on Your Own" questions 1 "Personal Opionion & Research" & 1 "Look up definition" question.
