Label your bins with pictures and text for your instill independence in your youngest students. Letters from A-Z in Jollyphonics order, including digraphs th, sh, ch. Print onto card stock, laminate if you like, then attach to a popsicle stick. Use in small groups or large group activities to practice listening for beginning, middle, and ending sounds in words. Provide each student with a letter stick (e.g., s, t, p) and show an item beginning with one of those letters. Child must then choose correct stick and hold it up to show the beginning sound.
