About the store
I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan and taught for 37 years. Most of which was at the kindergarten level. I split my teaching years between the Rialto and Redlands Unified School Districts in California. When I began my teaching career in 1964 I had no idea the long lasting impact it would have on my life. I met my future husband at a teacher's party and decorated my children's nursery with TLC art from my classroom. I have presented workshops at education conferences all across the United States. Through the books I have been able to share ideas with teachers from New York to Hawaii, Canada to Mexico, and even internationally from Ireland to Japan, from United Arab Emirates to Africa and Australia.

Animals in Winter
Animals in Winter is a book about the way animals react to winter. Some migrate. Some get ready. Some hibernate. Some adapt. The lessons in this book are: Canada Goose, Whale, Mouse, Squirrel, Bear, Bat, Raccoon, Cardinal, Rabbit, and a cut-and-paste cover for the book. This book has eleven cut-and-paste lessons of plants and animals that are found in the Rain Forest, plus instructions for a directed drawing cover. There are a few facts given about each rain forest plant and animal in the book. The lessons are: Trees, Ant, Tree Frog, Jaguar, Toucan, Blue Morpho Butterfly, Flower, Howler Monkey, Sloth, Emerald Boa, and Layers of the Rain Forest.

Japan/Colors of Japan
The study of Japan is a FAVORITE unit I do each year. The lessons are: a Lantern, Torii Gate, Carp Flag, Japanese Woman, Fan and Iris which are displayed throughout the room. We make the Colors of Japan Book. The lessons in this Make-A-Book are: Red is for the Japanese flag, Orange is for volcanos, Yellow is for school caps, Green is for green tea, Blue is for the water around Japan, Purple is for Mt. Fuji and Pink is for cherry blossoms. There is a section of Japan facts.

In 1986 I received the Rialto Chamber of Commerce Service to Education Award.
I was selected by my colleagues in Redlands to receive the Outstanding Teacher Award in 2002.
