Experience

Hi! I'm Trina Deboree, a lifelong teacher and mom with 27+ years of experience in education. I create engaging and practical resources for homeschool moms and teachers to help nurture a deep love of learning where children see themselves as learners and thinkers.

Teaching style

BEFORE I MADE IT MY MISSION TO EMPOWER TEACHERS AND HOMESCHOOL MOMS, I FELT "STUCK" IN THE CLASSROOM... I began my journey into education in 1997 as a first-grade teacher. I looped several times and then stayed in second grade for 14 years. There was a time in my teaching career when I loved what I did. But I felt a bit trapped towards the end of my time in the classroom, and I felt distraught by our current school system. I eventually moved out of the classroom several years ago. I gained a different perspective on various areas of education, such as student behavior, administration, special area teaching, as a Student Support Specialist, and in the media center as a media specialist. I WANT TO HELP YOU INSPIRE A LOVE OF LEARNING. I believe in instilling a deep love of reading and learning in our children and students. I believe moms and teachers are key to helping children see themselves as readers and thinkers. Together, we can help develop readers in the making, thinkers in the making, and problem solvers in the making, one page at a time. Will you join me? I created Trina Deboree Teaching and Learning and Readers in the Making to empower homeschool moms and teachers in the classroom to provide choices and tools to push back against a system that puts our children in perfectly square boxes. TDTL helps create opportunities to explore, dream, and discover a love of learning free from barriers, and Readers in the Making inspires a deep love of reading. I WANT TO SERVE YOU! After years of figuring it out and wishing I had the tools to provide my children and students with creativity, imagination, and a deeper understanding of learning, I want to bring that to you now. I have a few things you can use in your homeschool learning space or classroom to save time, engage your students, and support the core values you carry as a dedicated supporter of children.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Salutatorian: Master Education Technology and Media Design from Full Sail University I participated in Apple's pilot project-based learning study and was featured in an Apple Webinar in November 2011. I was one of ten finalists in a teaching competition from China, where I won $10,000. (So crazy!)

My own education history

Masters Degree: Education Technology and Media Design (Full Sail University) National Certification in Early Childhood Education Bachelors Degree: Sociology (University of South Florida) Associates Degree (University of Florida)
