About the store
Hi, my name is Shari. I have spent the last 15 years working with Learning Disabled and emotionally disturbed as a special ed teacher and a World history and US teacher for at risk students. When I look back I see that I have spent most of my time honing my craft, getting the details down, aligning and integrating curriculum for my department. It all really began when the new state standards were placed in our lap. For some reason I became very good at reshaping our curriculum, processing new indicators and creating new assessments.

NYS Sells Cultural Diffusion: Meet Alexander the Great
The spreading and sharing of ideas and belief systems among different cultures, societies or civilizations is one of the key themes to the Global History and Geography Exam. We use Alexander the Great to tempt and tease the concept out and into the students. This is a quick power point with necessary vocabulary, visuals and ideas, students can use to design their own concept cultural diffusion.

Global History and Georgraphy Sight Vocabulary
This is the list! After years of scouring New York State Regents Exams and attending NYS social studies confernces to pour over available books and curriculums, I compliled a list of the most used words on the Regents exam. Teaching style
I am a hands on and multi-media teacher. I also throw in my Howard Gardner multiple teaching/learning styles, as well as conflict resolution and social skill development.
Awards & shining teacher moments
The only two that matter: "Best Teacher" and "Goofiest Teacher" in the yearbooks. However, I do have an excellence in teaching from the state under my belt and a national award in US History. I also write for a paper in New York City and publish a series of teen book aligned with the NYS ELA and GLOBAL curriculum.
My own education history
I was a single mother of two children working on my PhD at Binghamton University, NY, working two jobs...but some how I made it out with my skin intact and a 4.0. Yet, I fell in love with my field work and never left it to pursue university teaching.
Additional biographical information
High interest, low level reading historical fiction writing. I have over my decades of teaching raised many children, some mine and some not, but this is definitly the best career.
