"The more things change, the more they stay the same" isn't likely a saying that exactly resonates with your students, since they haven't lived long enough to see real change. But as you and they will see in this product's presentations on 10 modern trends (adapted from an article in HistoryExtra, the official website and digital home of BBC History Magazine), it IS true. Forming groups of two or three, they'll dig further into history to see that some trends that they think are 'current' actually have their roots in the past...way, waaaay in the past. They should be encouraged to think creatively and a bit divergently in their research, to get a full picture of their 'modern' trend.
