BAG It! was written for your students who already how to play BAG tunes and are up for a challenge. It’s ideal for those who have completed Rocket Recorders Book 1.
BAG It! uses the simplicity of the three easiest notes on the recorder to introduce interesting rhythms, rests, trills, tremolos and staccato notes.
Teaching Tips
Because of the challenges of some the rhythms and notations, listening to the music first to get the melodies and rhythms into the student’s head will really help with learning.
Introducing the key concepts in each piece is important to do before presenting the music.
Playing options
Each of the six short pieces can be used as a stand-alone work, played together in any order or played as a whole; whatever is best for your students.
Imagination options: Music for your Own Story
BAG It! was written to be played as a whole, with a loose narrative running though the work. This makes it ideal to be used as a creative and imagination tool for the teacher and students to create their own story around this music.
