Description
These prompts cover a wide range of fiction and non-fiction writing styles including poems, short stories, lists, explaining processes and more. All prompts are non-denominational. Prompts are not specific to any one country or historical event. They are not geared towards specific times of year (however weather such as snow, and times of the year such as summer vacation are occasionally mentioned) and can be completed in any order. These task cards would be perfect for a writing center. You could store the cards on a key loop and let students pick their own prompt or assign them a particular card number to complete. At the end of this package I have included a Writing Record sheet so that students can keep track of the prompts they have completed and avoid repeats.
Please note that these prompts are the same as those found in my product Daily Student Writing Journal: 180 Daily Writing Prompts For Levels 3-5, simply reformatted into task cards rather than a journal format.
