Description

This is one SMARTBoard Lesson with printables for teaching adding 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping. This lesson involves using base ten blocks to solve problems. The lesson includes racing addition cards that could be used as a scoot game or independent center for students to practice independently at the end of the lesson. There are 16 racing addition cards and a recording sheet for students to record the problem and answers.

I created this lesson for the Common Core Standard 1.NBT.4 - add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a 2-digit number and a multiple of 10, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction. Understand that in adding two-digit numbers, one adds tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose a ten.

This lesson includes:
-one SMARTBoard lesson
-one set of 16 racing 2-digit addtion cards
-one recording sheet

Thanks!
