Quiz, Quiz, Trade- Write the answer on the back of the card. Give each student 1 card and have them walk around the room with their hand up. Students pair up with the person closest to them on your signal. Students will quiz each other by asking them to solve their card. They will check the answer on the back to make sure their partner solved correctly. Students then trade cards and walk around the room again, pairing up with someone new on your signal.
Early finishers- Students can grab a bag filled with the cards and some clothespins or chips. They will solve the problem and put a clothespin or chip on the correct answer. Make it a partner activity by having students work in pairs and check each other’s work.
Small Group Center- For students who have trouble with this skill, laminate cards and have them draw dots in the box to show how they counted on for addition or draw and mark out for subtraction. Then place a clothespin or chip on the correct answer.
Scoot- Place them around the room. Have students go around the room to each card and record their answers on the recording sheet. (There are 2 options- 1. all 20 2. cut the page in half and have some students complete 1-10 while others complete 11-20
