Description

Are you looking for a fun way to have your first grade students practice comparing numbers? This is a scoot game - task cards - for 1st grade that allows students to practice comparing 2-digit numbers using digits, place value blocks, and words.

Do you ever feel like your students get board during a math skills practice? This "SCOOT!" game will keep students engaged and having fun while reviewing comparing numbers and using symbols and words to show a number comparison. This scoot game will have your students up and moving around the room!

*It can be used whole class or as a center activity | task cards.

*Students will get to practice identifying greater than, less than, and equal to.

*Color and black and white options are included. There is a guided recording sheet with prompts on it and a blank one included.

*I have included recording sheets with 12, 16, 20, and 24 question boxes. Choose which works best for you and your students!

(There is also an answer key included).

*There are 24 task cards for students to work on.

*This is also included in my MEGA GROWING BUNDLE of scoot activities! You can check that out HERE!

*This game would be helpful as practice for 1st grade students and a review for 2nd grade students.

To use this activity, I suggest you laminate and then cut each page to make them last longer. To play this game you would cut out each card and tape them around the room (or place them on desks/tables). Each student will have a recording sheet (both blank and structured recording sheets included). Students can be in pairs. They will stand at a card, solve the problem on the card, and record their answer in the respective box on the recording sheet. You can set a timer for 1 or 2 minutes. When the timer goes off say “SCOOT!” and they will move to the next card. This is a great activity for review and to get the students moving around the room!

Directions for the game are included.

I hope you and your students enjoy this resource!
