Are you looking for pumpkin themed independent math learning centers for your first graders? These fall/pumpkin themed math packet is perfect for helping your first grade students master number bonds and facts through ten during October and November!

What's included:

Pumpkin Seed Number Bond - Students will find the whole number using black and brown pumpkin seeds and a pumpkin themed ten frame work mat. They will then record their work and complete two addition sentences.

Pumpkin Ways to Make Ten - Students will use a ten frame and pumpkin seeds to find all the ways to make ten. Two recording sheet options!

Pumpkin Number Bond Craft - Students will make a person craft peeping over a fence. They will place pumpkins on the fence and in front of a fence. They will complete a number bond to go with the pumpkins on their picture.

Pumpkin Missing Part Number Bonds - Students will find the missing part of a number bond using the whole and a part. A work mat is included if the students need it for extra support.

Is It True? - Students will decide if number sentences are equal. A pumpkin themed work mat is provided.

Doubles Plus One - Students will match double fact cards to double plus one cards. They will record the double fact and the sum and then the doubles plus one fact. I have provided you with a few versions of this center for differentiation.

All math centers come with teacher directions, student directions, and pumpkin themed math center cards.

*This resource compliments math programs like the EngageNY and Eureka Math programs for first grade.

Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem. For example, subtract 10 – 8 by finding the number that makes 10 when added to 8.
Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
