Description
What are Interactive Math Toolkits/Notebooks?
Interactive math toolkits/notebooks are teaching pages used within a teaching lesson/unit. They often have paper cutouts that can be glued into a spiral or composition book. Students can be given a page or two during a study of a lesson to help with the concepts being taught. Each unit covers the major concepts within the common core curriculum. Each unit set of pages includes a vocabulary foldable that is editable by the teacher for definitions, reference/sample problems page for the lesson and a "your turn" page. The pages are colorful and have plenty of visuals.
How do I use the notebooks with my class?
The pages can be given as a lesson is being learned or all at once at the beginning of the year. They can be enforced as a whole group discussion or used in small group activity. Students first cut out the pages to fit into their notebook and glue them into the book. With the teachers help, the activities given can be stationary in the book or cut out into pieces depending on the teachers preference. ex: vocabulary foldable, it can be cut out and used as a foldable or kept glued in the book. The "your turn" pages are mainly black and whites for students to get creative and use colors to add to the pages.
