2 Digit by 1 Digit Multiplication: This resource includes 2 digit by 1 digit multiplication practice pages in a fun fall animal theme! Students can solve the equations using the partial products strategy (also known as the area model or box method), the standard algorithm, or a different flexible strategy. 

This multiplication resource includes:

• An anchor chart demonstrating the partial product strategy (whole and half-size pages)
• Six (6) unique multiplication pages with six (6) equations per page: perfect for students with larger penmanship or those just starting with the partial products strategy. Answer keys are included.
• Six (6) unique multiplication pages with twelve (12) equations per page: perfect for students needing additional practice using either the standard algorithm or partial products. Answer keys are included.
• Open-ended dice roll pages for math centers or independent work (fall-themed and non-seasonal)
• Color and B&W versions of all pages

Please note: The multiplication worksheets are the same for the color and black and white clip art. There are 12 unique multiplication practice pages in the partial product and traditional algorithm format with corresponding answer keys

The equations are formatted horizontally with space beneath for students to show work and solve. I teach my students to multiply 2-digit by 1-digit numbers using partial product boxes before moving on to the traditional algorithm. This method is a natural transition from using manipulatives or grid paper. Students decompose numbers into tens and ones and use the distributive property to multiply. If your students are already using the traditional algorithm for multiplication, these worksheets will provide practice lining up the digits correctly as they rewrite the equation vertically.
