Use this lesson plan to teach your students how to write an imaginative (narrative) story!

This lesson plan includes:

  • extra activity: illustration
  • extra activity: 6-sentence story

During this lesson, students will take 2 weeks to be introduced to imaginative (narrative) writing, brainstorm ideas, and plan their writing. They will write a rough draft, revise it, edit it, and peer conference. Students will write their final drafts and then share them with their class.

A teacher's manual is included with directions for each step. Rubrics are included for the planning page as well as the final draft paper.

2 extra activities are included for early finishers, including an illustration page and a short 6-sentence story page.
