Description

These multiplication task cards include four levels of questions that guide students through different experiences with two-digit area models. The questions gradually increase in difficulty, providing support for learners at all levels as they practice solving two-digit multiplication problems. With built-in scaffolding, they’re an excellent fit for a small group teacher center!

Breakdown of Task Cards:

Cards 1-8 have area models drawn and numbers labeled on the sides
Cards 9-16 have area models drawn only
Cards 17-24 are blank for students to solve on their own from start to finish
Cards 25-32 have missing parts of the area model problem missing

In addition to small groups, these task cards can be repurposed for a gallery walk. Post them around the room, copy the recording sheet, and let your students get to work! Being able to repurpose task cards is just another reason to stock up on these resources.

I recently learned about Boom cards and love using them with my students as an intervention. I like that they are student-paced so that I can work with my small group, and students must provide the correct answers to move on to the next question while providing valuable data on my dashboard. My students are always engaged when using Boom cards!
