Description

Are you looking for a 2D Shape task box activity? These 2D shape task cards allow students to practice sorting shapes, classifying shapes, and recognizing shape attributes (counting sides). It has an errorless option and comes with two activities so you can differentiate. It includes 8 shapes, 8 task cards, number tokens, labels, and visual step-by-step instructions for students (in first, next, then format). Students are either given 2D shape cut-outs, OR task cards with 2D shapes on them. The task is to count the sides of the shape, and put on the corresponding number token. It can be used as an errorless activity if you choose to use the number tokens with color prompts, or can be more challenging (without color prompts). Please note that with the color prompt option, students can still make errors, however are less likely given the prompts. You can make it truly errorless by only putting one shape with the one correct number in a single task box (or the shapes that have similar sides - ex. square, rectangle, rhombus all have 4 sides, so they can be put together in one box with three number 4 tokens).

I love this resource for my adult ed class to promote vocational skills. They work on these boxes when they come in to the class and some are assigned for needed standards for IEPs.

I love this! The options helped me differentiate with my students and also provided next options as students mastered skills.

Helpful visual resource for 3rd grade students who were lacking some prerequisite skills (shape ID, number of sides) to access the 3rd grade geometry standards,
