Description

Are you looking for fun and engaging independent work tasks to add to your math centers and special education classroom? Or are you looking for hands-on activities for your farm theme? If so, these 2D shape pig sorting task cards are the perfect addition to your farm activities.

Students need to look at what shape the pig is on the task card. Then, they use a clothing peg or other manipulative to choose which 2D shape they think the pig is out of 3 possible choices on the side of the task card.

This is a fun and hands-on way for students to work on their 2D shape recognition skills and their fine motor skills. It also provides you with an engaging math center to add to your farm unit.

The 2D shapes included are;

  • Circle
  • Diamond
  • Heart
  • Hexagon
  • Octagon
  • Oval
  • Pentagon
  • Rectangle
  • Trapezoid
  • Triangle
  • Square
  • Star

Instructions

  • Print out the included task cards.
  • Cut out and laminate each of the individual task cards.
  • Provide students with a clothing peg, dry-wipe pen or other manipulative to select their answers.

These task cards are best used when laminated. This way they will be stronger, longer lasting and reusable. They will be a great addition to your math centers and farm activities.

These task cards fit perfectly into photo storage boxes - making it easy for you to stay organised and keep all the pieces together.
