Master 2nd grade math with place value & comparing numbers lessons. These greater than less than worksheets and lessons make understanding 2nd grade Common Core math easy and engaging for students.

This 2nd grade math standards-based comparing two 3-digit numbers unit focuses on the Common Core math standards 2.NBT.4. This asks students to compare two three-digit numbers, using symbols <, >, and = using place value strategies. There are daily lesson plans, whole group activities, partner practice activities, MATH group centers, exit slips, and assessments.

What's included in the 4 daily lesson plans:

  • Whole group activity
  • Partner practice activity
  • MATH group: Math writing, Apply new skills, Teacher time, Hands-on math (Teacher time is differentiated learning opportunities for remediation, on-level, and enrichment.)
  • Exit slip

2.NBT.4 Focus:

  • Day 1- Using <, >, and = symbols
  • Day 2- Comparing using place value strategies
  • Day 3- Comparing using place value strategies

This resource has been perfect for one of my students with a more/less IEP goal! I love anything that I can print, laminate and reuse in the future. This is something that his peers can also work with him on, which is great! I love that the place values go up pretty high, it allows us to challenge him while keeping the tasks simple.
