Now you can finally have one document that lists all of the standards plus provides a place to record what you’ve taught throughout the school year! The ELA Standards Checklist is a basic tool that could eventually become just as important as your grade book. You’ll want it by your side when you’re planning with your team, pulling together a new unit, filling out report cards, or meeting with your principal. Each time you teach a standard, highlight it and make a note of the date it was taught in one of the seven boxes to the right. With just a quick glance, you’ll be able to see what standards have been taught, how often, and what still needs to be covered.
