Description
Switching between, online, hybrid, and in-person learning can be a challenge. Let me help you take some of the work off of your plate. I use these Google Slides through Google Classroom for students who are in person or at home to keep consistency from week to week. This set comes with five days of teaching videos and activities to go with them.
***Please note that I do not own the videos, at they come from Youtube. The videos can be changed if you prefer to make your own, or use others from another source.***
This week of lessons will focus on character and setting, proper nouns, long e sound, informative writing on inventors, and subtraction (single and double digit).
I have used they slides with my own students for the past few months and found it to be engaging and successful. When my students are learning from home, we start the day by meeting in Google Meet. We discuss our goals for the day and students then can watch the videos/complete the activities. We often complete the activities together through Google Meet, while I share my screen and walk students through the process.
Here are the standards being covered in this week, as well as the content being used to cover them.
Reading: RL.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
Character and Setting
Phonics: RF.2.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.
Long E (ee and ea)
Grammar: L.2.1 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
proper nouns
Writing: W.2.2 Write informative/explanatory texts that introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement or section.
Paragraph on famous inventor
Math: 2.NBT.7 Add and subtract within 1,000, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; record the strategy with a written numerical method (drawings and, when appropriate, equations) and explain the reasoning used. Understand that in adding or subtracting three-digit numbers, hundreds are added or subtracted from hundreds, tens are added or subtracted from tens, ones are added or subtracted from ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose or decompose tens or hundreds
Double digit subtraction without regrouping
