Description

Hello teachers!

This awesome product includes over 200 google slides for (at least!) 10 engaging 45-60 minute math lessons for 2nd graders (or advanced 1st graders or 3rd graders in need of foundational work!). When you purchase and download, you'll receive a link to the editable Google slides as well as a PDF of all slides and teaching notes.

Each distance/remote learning lesson is highly visual and interactive:

  • GAMES played remotely between teacher and class!
  • NUMBER TALKS to encourage flexible thinking and mental math strategies!
  • QUICK FLASHES to strengthen number sense!
  • PLACE VALUE opportunities for students to see patterns in the base ten system!
  • ADDITION and SUBTRACTION activities that build strategies and number sense!
  • MULTIPLE REPRESENTATIONS and TOOLS: ten frames, hundred charts, base ten block images, arrays, number sentences/equations!

The priority of these lessons are:

  • Build confidence.
  • Spark a love for math.
  • Create connection between students and their teacher.
  • Strengthen conceptual understanding.
  • Build flexibility and fluency in math.

These lessons and activities can be facilitated remotely (Google meet, Zoom, etc.) or can be taught in the classroom while projecting the slides (or both if you are teaching students in person and remotely!).

Students at home need nothing more than pencil and paper. If they have some sort of manipulative (blocks, beans, counters) they can use those for some of the activities included (but all activities can be done without).

I hope you will enjoy facilitating these math activities as much as I do!

Happy Teaching!
