About the store

Experience

I am entering my seventh year in education, having taught both first and second grade. I've taught in Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL, and I am currently located in Columbus, OH. I received my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology, and my master's degree is in Teaching and Learning with a focus in Reading.

Teaching style

I have a responsive style of teaching, focusing heavily on relationships, trust, and mutual respect in my classroom. I spend a lot of time setting up consistent routines, defining my expectations, and building up a sense of community with my students. When my students feel supported by me emotionally, socially, and physically, the academic aspects of this job feel more seamless.

My own education history

University of Cincinnati (2018): Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education (PreK-3) with a minor in Psychology. St. Francis University (2022): Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning with a focus in Reading.

Additional biographical information

I love to stay active outdoors, hike, travel, collect plants, explore new restaurants and coffee shops, read, and spend time with my pets, husband, family, and friends!
