  • Secure all task cards related to one activity with a ring for easy access and organization.

Starting an Activity:

  • Students pick an envelope (math center) that they haven’t completed yet.
  • They refer to the number on the envelope and check their hundreds chart. If the number is uncolored, they can select that center.

Working on the Activity:

Finishing the Activity:

  • After completion, students refer to the answer key on the back of the envelope to self-assess their work.
  • They color the corresponding number on their hundreds chart, indicating that they have completed that particular center.

Free Time or Early Finishers:

  • Students who finish their regular assignments early can choose a math center to work on.
  • This allows for continuous learning and minimizes downtime.

This system is not only easy to manage but also allows students to work at their own pace. It promotes self-assessment, responsibility, and provides a structured way for students to engage in meaningful mathematical practices. The hundreds chart tracking system is a brilliant addition, as it helps students take ownership of their learning and visually track their progress.
