Get your second graders excited to practice new math skills and review prior learning with these fall/autumn themed CCSS aligned 2nd grade math task cards. This resource includes 6 sets of winter themed (16 cards per set for a total of 96 task cards) covering fact fluency to 20, partitioning 2D shapes, addition and subtraction to 1000, adding 3 or 4 addends and estimating in centimeters.
This resource includes both printable and digital versions for easy classroom use. The digital version is preloaded onto Google Slides making it easy to assign and use with students. The printable version includes color task cards, making it easy to print and use in your classroom.
While these task cards are labeled as "for December" they are easily integrated into any classroom math center during any month of the school year.
Practice Skills in this Spring Bundle:
1. 2 Digit Addition with 3 or 4 Addends: Students will see 3 or 4 two digit addends and be required to add to find the sum.
2. Add and Subtract with Unknown Addends of 10 and 100: Students will see an equation with a missing addend and be required to determine whether that addend should be 10 or 100.
3. Addition and Subtraction Equations to 1000: Students will solve addition and subtraction equations with 2 and 3 digit numbers.
4. Creating Addition and Subtraction Equations to 20: Students will use their fact fluency knowledge to create equations from a collection of numbers.
5. Estimating Lengths and Measuring to the Nearest Centimeter: Students will estimate the measurement of a snowman, then determine the actual length by measuring in centimeters.
6. Partitioned 2D Shapes as Halves, Thirds, Fourths: Students will see a fraction term and determine which partitioned shape matches that name.
Use these task cards in your classroom:
- Math Centers: add these task cards to your math routine for an engaging winter addition to your math centers. These task cards are easy to print or assign through Google!
- Distance Learning: Assigning this resource to be used remotely has never been easier! If students have access to their Google accounts at home, they can use this resource with the family or as extra practice at home.
- Independent Practice: allow students to use these task cards independently during their math block or morning work! They can solve problems on their own or work together with a partner. Each set includes an answer key, allowing students to self assess.
- Write the Room: Hang these task cards around your classroom and allow students to travel and solve each problem on their answer keys.
