Description

3-D Model Skin Project

Learning Target:

1. I can create an accurate model of the skin structure and describe the function of all the anatomic parts presented in the 3-D Model.

2. I can teach another individual about the Integumentary System.

Assignments Directions:

Students will be you will be constructing a 3-D skin model on a square tissue box. Students will need to include all the structures listen below, as well as a list of the functions of each structure, a common skin disease and skin facts. Once students complete their skin model, students will be using the model to teach to a staff member at their school, about the integumentary system! By teaching a staff member, this will demonstrate student understanding on the Integumentary System. Students will imagine that they are making a model for a dermatologist office to help their patients learn about the skin.

TEACHER NOTE:

Please see sample/preview for the exact assignment overview. (simple document alignment is incorrect but actual document is correct) This assignment is super easy to set up and conduct with students. The assignment also helps reinforce the concept of the Integumentary System. The assignment is in a word doc that can be altered to class needs. The document also comes with a rubric.

This resource was given to my Anatomy and Physiology students as one of the choices for the Final Exam Project at the end of the semester. The resource fit very nicely with our chapter on tissues and the integumentary system.
