Description

This resource is perfect for the beginning of the year place value review. There are 16 task cards that show standard form, word form, or expanded form. Students will have fun moving around the room while practicing how to write three digit numbers in all three forms. Print on colored paper to make this activity more engaging!

There are several ways to use these task cards:

Scoot or Scavenger Hunt: Place the task cards on students’ desks or put them up around your classroom. Have students move around to the different task cards and write the answers on the recording sheet. Have students continue working on the different task cards until they are finished with all their answers or until time is up.

Math Center Activity/Small Group: You can spread the cards out on the table for each student to grab and work on individually or you can show one card at a time and work on each one together as a group.

My students loved this activity! It was so quiet, you could hear a pen drop! It was a great way to end our unit on place value.
