Description
These 3 STEM challenges are great for back-to-school, testing weeks, before long holidays, or anytime you want your students to get hands-on experience with STEM!
Each of these challenges use simple, easy-to-find materials, and guide students through the different steps of the engineering & design process, from defining the problem to testing and rebuilding!
I created these challenges as something different from all of the typical spaghetti and marshmallow towers- the most common comments from my students is "I thought this would be easier!"
The three challenges are:
1-Tall Tower- build the tallest tower, using only popsicle sticks and binder clips!
2-Pie-pan Maze- create a maze using only play dough and note cards!
3-Pom-pom Catapult- design a catapult using only popsicle sticks and rubber bands!
Materials needed:
popsicle sticks
rubber bands
aluminum pans
binder clips
marbles
play dough
note cards
plastic spoons
