Description

CANDY LAND is one of our "One Handed Pieces", written to provide fun and interesting for advanced beginners to play. It only uses the notes G, A, B, C, C# and D however, within this limited range there are some wonderful melodies, interesting and novel harmonies plus good counting and rhythmic learning opportunities.

Playing options

Each of the six short pieces can be used as a stand-alone work or played as a whole.

Imagination options : Music for your own Story

CANDY LAND was written to be played as a whole, with a loose narrative running though the work. This makes it ideal to be used as a creative and imagination tool for the teacher and students to create their own story around this music. Perhaps, about a trip to the magical world of “Candy Land”

Creative Education

We have created an enhanced and modified version of CANDY LAND called A Bigger Bar of Candy Land. but The Bigger Bar has more imaginative harmony and an extra two pieces. It was created to show the students the possibilities of looking at works afresh and that there can be more than one way of doing things.

The PREVIEW file is the first 30 seconds or so of each piece.

The Six Pieces of Candy Lane are:

  1. The Gates of Candy Land
  2. The Chocolate River
  3. Fields of Candy
  4. Castles in the Mist
  5. The Candy Carousel
  6. So Much to Look Forward To!

What's in the Pack?

  • MP3 files with a recorder playing the melody. (Which is a great help while learning the songs).
  • MP3 files with no recorder. (Ideal for performance track use, if a live piano is not available).
  • PDF of the full score with a separate recorder part

Additional Notes

The piano part is fairly easy but still interesting to play.

This is just one of many works we’ve written for children and adults alike. If you would like something written for you, then we are always also open to composing with any ideas you have.
