I am very excited about this complete interactive set of fact
family puzzles. This is a simple and fun way to teach children the importance of how numbers fit together. A child that has a handle on fact families is a child who will have a much easier time learning higher levels of math later on. Fact families,
believe it or not, are very important when learning pre-algebra.
Knowing what numbers go together in equations will help a child solve algebra problems a lot quicker later on. I recommend
printing these pages on card stock and have children glue their houses onto another piece of colored cardstock. After they finish the houses, I recommend putting their work in page
protectors so they can always look back and review them.
I personally do this with all projects that children do that are teaching a main concept. This way they can enjoy their work, and it is protected for their reviewing throughout the year. You will probably need to help them with 2 or 3 of the houses until they get the hang of it. They should be able to do the rest of them with very little help. 4 houses will fit per page when they glue onto the new cardstock piece.
I wanted to create a complete piece of my curriculum for free so
that people could really get a feel for how all of my curriculum sets
are designed. I design my curriculum so that children can focus and master one skill at a time. If you do it this way than children will not get overwhelmed. If you focus on too many skills at once they will forget everything that you are trying to teach them and will get overwhelmed and shut down.
It would be smart to go back and teach older children who have missed this skill how to master it. It is very important.
All of my curriculum is very thorough, simply taught,
highly interactive, and full of fun.
