Description

In this project students have the opportunity to experience an engineering design process by solving a given problem. Students are asked to select from one of four problems (ex. phone charging station) and develop a solution that adheres to given criteria/constraints by following the provided series of steps. Students will first research existing solutions, use the provided worksheet to brainstorm possible ideas, choose their best idea and use Autodesk Inventor (or other 3D modeling software) to 3D model their design, develop a set of technical drawings for their design, and finally create a prototype of their design with a 3D printer. A rubric is also provided.
