Description

3D Shapes - 3 D Shape Memory Match Game. Fun Math Center or Game! I have also included 3D shape puzzles that will challenge students with characteristics of shapes defined by faces, vertices, and edges. There is also an assessment piece so you can test student knowledge of identifying the shapes. Also useful for homeschool or summer review. Shapes included: sphere, cube, cylinder, pyramid, torus, prism, cone, dodecahedron. Printable game. Digital and Print: Includes an Easel Activity ready for learning with digital tools. Assign it online in Google Classroom or use a link in any LMS. Select the pages you want and add your own directions or notes. Helpful for remote teaching.

CCSS: K.G.A.2 Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size. 1.G.A.1 Distinguish between defining attributes (e.g., triangles are closed and three-sided) versus non-defining attributes (e.g., color, orientation, overall size); build and draw shapes to possess defining attributes.

Access on the product page or in My Purchases after purchase. 20 total pages including 4 ready-made digital pages. Please see full preview.

Teacher Directions:

Print out all the shape cards and shape name cards. I recommend card stock.

Cut out all the cards.

Laminate if desired for durability.

Store in a large plastic zipper bag or manila envelope.

Cover can be used as a center sign.

Games may be played individually or in pairs.

For differentiation, there are two ways to play:

1. Place matching stickers (not included) of the back of cards that match. Players lay cards right side up in a 4 x 4 pattern. Then they must match the shapes to the shape words and take turns making matches. They can self-check by looking on the back of the cards and seeing if the stickers match. If they are correct, they keep the matching cards and go again. Player with the most matches when all the cards are matched wins.

2. Do not put stickers on the back of the cards or remove them if they were used previously. Players lay the cards face down in a 4 x 4 pattern and take turns making matches. This will now be a memory game. They must match shapes to shape words. If they are correct, they keep the matching cards and go again. Player with the most matches when all the cards are matched wins.

You can print out the answer key on card stock and laminate as well. When students have completed the game, you can give them the answer key to check themselves.

I feel that the dodecahedron is a little over first graders head. Overall, good product!

I always have high expectations. My grandson knew that shape in pre-K. Actually, they had it on one of the Mickey Mouse Club episodes which he watched when he was three. :) Thanks!
