In this slide deck, you will be teaching 6th-grade math on 3D shapes, nets, recognizing 3D shapes through nets, and surface area. These slides were made intentionally to be used in Nearpod, a free online platform for interactive learning, but could also be loaded into PowerPoint as well! This slide deck includes 4 full lessons for you to teach your students to help them learn all about 3D shapes!

What is Nearpod?

Nearpod is a fun, exciting platform that allows students to interact on their devices with their lessons in the form of games, polls, quizzes, and more! These lessons can be used in a traditional classroom, during Zoom/Google meet lessons, in small groups, and in centers. Students go from passively listening to a lesson, to actively engaging the entire time with the click of a mouse or the touch of a hand.

All you need to do is create a free Nearpod account and follow the instructions included with your purchase. These ready-to-use lessons only take a few minutes to set up and can be used time and time again and saved to your lesson library! Students can join using the link, Nearpod website, or the Nearpod app on a tablet/iPad.

While using your lesson in teacher mode, you control the pace of slide progression whether your learners are in front of you or around the world. When learners are answering questions, you have access to every learner’s screen on your teacher’s screen. Can you imagine the power of being able to check in with every learner in real-time? It is a game changer! When assigned in learner mode, your learner can complete the lesson at their own pace, on a schedule that works for them, in the comfort of their own home. The best part is when they have completed their assignment you have access to their reports to view all their answers. Data in the palm of your hand!
