  • Versatile Use: Suitable for whole-class instruction, small group activities, or team-based competition.

-How to use this:

1. After you read the introduction to the students on slide #5, click on the blue box at the bottom of the screen to take you to the “LEVELS MAP” (on slide #6).

2. Click on Level 1, and the activity/ game will begin.

3. The question will appear.  **How students record their answers is completely up to you. All students can write it down on paper, or have a few students be the “Captains” and write the answer on the board. Or, if you wish, students can just verbally say the answer.**

4. Simply follow the instructions on the screen. Keep clicking as instructed to reveal the correct answer, and then click again to have the Game Wizard reveal where his magical red bags are located.

5. If students answered correctly, students choose which red bag they want to open. Click on the chosen red bag to reveal how much gold they found.

6. Keep track of the how much gold they found. (If the class is split into teams, keep the score on the board..the team with the most gold at the ends wins.) If the class is working together, you can give them a goal to reach (EX: find 20 bars of gold, etc).

7. After they find the gold, click the yellow arrow to go back to the LEVELS MAP.

8. Click on Level 2, and repeat. (If using teams, they alternate taking turns answering)

I used this to wrap up our chapter on lines on Google Classroom. It also happened to be the last week of distance learning so it was fun to have a game to end it with. I had the students make sure they put the slides into present mode and complete it. I did not use it as an assessment as it tells the answers but my class kept telling me how fun it was and they could check their own answers.

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand that shapes in different categories (e.g., rhombuses, rectangles, and others) may share attributes (e.g., having four sides), and that the shared attributes can define a larger category (e.g., quadrilaterals). Recognize rhombuses, rectangles, and squares as examples of quadrilaterals, and draw examples of quadrilaterals that do not belong to any of these subcategories.
Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole. For example, partition a shape into 4 parts with equal area, and describe the area of each part as 1/4 of the area of the shape.
