Description

Review 3rd grade standards for EOY review or NJSLA prep. Display & Play low prep task cards are a quick game based way to help students practice complete answers.

*TWO sets of task cards are included - one step problems & two step problems*

Break students into teams. Give each team one task card. They must answer the question completely in full sentences, giving plenty of explanation and evidence.  When they think they have answered completely, they should check their answer with the teacher.

  •  If their answer is correct and complete move the game piece one space and give that team a new task card.
  • If they did not answer the question completely or correctly, send them back to collaborate as a team to see how they can rethink their complete answer.

The goal is to see how many spaces we can move as a class.

This activity will encourage collaboration communication review, and thorough explanations

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
