Description

Happy Valentine's Day! This Scoot game has 32 cards. There are 16 standards covered with 2 cards per standard. This description is beginning to sound like a word problem! ;) Speaking of word problems, each question is a real world application word problem. I know my students have issues with word problems, so I made sure to include them in here.

I made two answer keys. One is blank, whereas the other one, can be used to differentiate instruction. This answer key shows the problems set up for the students, so they are able to see the first step and see how to organize the problem.

Detailed Answer Key Included.

This file comes with a Scoot timer! On the first slide, you can select the time that you would like each question to allow. The choices are 20, 30, 45 and 60 seconds. Start and Stop sounds for each problem lets students know when to transition to the next question!

I used it second and third grade students. It was definitely rigorous but will surely prep them for the intermediate and state testing.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
