3rd Grade Math Task Cards for Review & Assessment | Skill Checks

Make math review and assessment simple, engaging, and meaningful with these 3rd Grade Math Task Cards for Review & Assessment. This resource includes skill check task cards designed to reinforce essential third-grade math standards while giving teachers clear insight into student understanding.

Each task card targets key Common Core–aligned math skills, making them perfect for daily review, small groups, intervention, test prep, RTI, or informal assessment. The consistent format allows students to focus on the math—not the layout—while teachers can quickly identify skill gaps.

Laminate the cards or use dry-erase sleeves to reuse year after year, or project them for whole-group review and discussion.

Ready-to-use review and assessment format

This set includes 30 task cards in multiple choice format, covering a range of 3rd Grade Common Core Objectives including~

*multiplication and division

*fractions

*arrays and area of rectangles

*using place value understanding and properties of operations to perform multi-digit arithmetic

*estimate the mass of objects

*telling time on an analog clock

*measurement

*money

*algebraic thinking

*interpreting data and charts

These task cards make great "beginning of the year review" for 4th graders, spiral review for special education students throughout the year, or test prep before state assessments!

I also have used them for interactive math journals by printing them in black and white, cutting them in half and pasting in math notebooks. Extend the activity by asking students to explain their thinking on the same page. A great way to get some math conversations going!

Download includes an organizer for students to record their answers and an answer key.

My students loved these task cards. I used them in math centers and it was great for them to use independently where I could work with a smaller group and not have to continually give them instructions.
