Description
Solving word problems can be tricky, but they don't have to be! Give your students the tools they need to be able to solve any word problem and feel confident! Use this resource to help students get an in depth look at the problem solving process in a simple, step-by-step way.
The steps are: Understand the Problem, Make a Plan, Solve the Problem, and Check your Work. Once they have mastered these steps, they are able to use them in solving more complex problems.
In this product you will find:
•Problem Solving Posters- A poster for each of the 4 steps.
•Problem Solving Handbook- Interactive notes to help teach each of the 4 steps.
•Word Problem Matching- Students will cut out word problems and match them with the correct operation and solve.
•Correct or Incorrect- Students will look at the solutions to word problems and decide if they are correct or incorrect.
•Two-Step Word Problems- Students will use what they have learned with the steps to solve two-step word problems.
•Track the Clues Word Problem Edition- Students will work together to read a word problem and solve it. The solution will lead them to the next word problem/clue and they will continue until they have solved them all. The papers will need to be copied back to back. Cut the strips out, fold, and tape so that the answers are on the outside.
