It's time to review and you want a fun 3rd grade 2-step word problem test prep math review! Try this no-prep, self-checking digital games and escape room set. Give your students extra practice while saving you time - it might even be the most fun they have had all year!
Act it Out Practice on Google Slides
There are 9 problems for students to practice with. 4 Early Finisher challenges are included. In these, students write their own camping story problems and act them out with provided props (clipart) by dragging and dropping the pictures on the slide. Sharing Directions: Share the link with students in Google Classroom as an assignment and choose to "make a copy" for each student OR share a copy of the slideshow with students. Students can then make their own copy of the presentation. PIECES WILL ONLY MOVE IN EDIT MODE, so students need a Google account to work through this. If students don't have Google Accounts, you can use it as a demonstration on your Promethean board (Again, be sure to be in edit mode to move the pieces).
Digital Escape Room
This no-prep word problem activity will help your students understand word problems, by engaging them in real-world problems as they shop for a camping trip at Goldie's Outdoor Emporium. How the Escape Room Works: Share by copying the escape room to Google Drive. Then, share the link with students. Change the word "copy" to "present" in the link for best results. This way, students will see the presentation only in Present mode. Students clip on the digital store, finding math problem clues. By solving the 9, 2-step word problems they collect letters in a mystery word. Print out the 1-page answer sheet to help students keep up with their answers.
