Description

Are you looking for a fun and challenging Thanksgiving activity for your 3rd grade students? Look no further! This Thanksgiving math escape room game is filled with five different activities that will make your students ask for more!

Students will translate Morse Code and Caesar Cipher, answer multiplication and division, and do other fun activities! They can play the game individually or in pairs. You can make the game more challenging by adding a timer.

Reasons why you need this product:

  1. LESS PREP, especially if you're running out of time! You only need to print seven (7) pages of worksheets, assign the Google Forms to each pair, and you're good to go!
  2. This self-checking activity allows students to practice working and solving problems independently.
  3. This Thanksgiving-themed deck is perfect for early finishers or subs!

NOTE: For you to access this resource, TpT will need to make a copy of the Seller’s original file in your Google Drive. This permission allows us to deliver that copy of the file to your Google Drive and to create a special folder where your purchased TpT resources made for Google Drive will be stored. Because you’ll have your own unique copy of the resource in your Google Drive, any edits you make to the file won’t be seen by the Seller or other Buyers. TpT will not access your Google Drive for any other reason.

This game works using:

  • Google Forms
  • printables (color copy, 7 pages)

**Please read all/check the preview before purchasing to see what the Google Forms look like.**

Background:

Your long-time friend invited you for a Thanksgiving dinner. When you arrived at her house, she wasn't there. You found out that monsters ate your friend! She left you some notes/clues on how to escape the Thanksgiving dinner, and it is your mission to find them out.... and escape!

Here are the challenges:

  1. Picture Puzzles. This is the first challenge and goes after the introduction of the game. Students identify 16 Thanksgiving vocabulary words (pilgrim, pumpkin, cornucopia, etc.). One correct answer = one puzzle piece. This is a PDF file and contains 7 pages.
  2. Morse Code. They translate a Morse Code message.
  3. The Caesar Cipher. They decipher a clue to go to the next challenge.
  4. Color by Code. Multiplication & division activity until they color the whole picture.
  5. Decoding a message using addition and subtraction.

Inside the Google Drive folder you will see:

  • Google Forms. The introduction of the game and Challenges 2-5 are here.
  • PDF file. It includes the answer key, credits, and Challenge 1 which is a picture puzzle (color copy; 7 pages.)
